Phenomenal U, PLLC is a private-pay provider some insurance companies may consider us an out-of-network provider.

What that means is that you will pay for counseling at the time of your session and seek potential reimbursement from your insurance. Please review your benefits if you will be seeking reimbursement. Some clients receive 100% reimbursement and some have no benefits.

You can always use a HSA or FSA card for services.

Also, most people have higher deductibles, so unless you have a major surgery planned you may not hit your deductible. If you have to pay 100% up to your deductible that means that you’ll pay out of pocket for in-network and out-of-network, so it’s about whether you want to decide on the best counselor for you or have your insurance decide.

Lastly, it is important to know that insurances require we give you (or your spouse/child) a mental health diagnosis. This is part of your medical record. If you feel uncomfortable having mental health diagnosis that is another reason you may not want to use your insurance benefit for therapy services.
