FAQs

I’m thinking about contacting you for an appointment. What happens next?

First congratulate yourself! You have taken the first step to becoming the most phenomenal version of yourself. When you call or email we will schedule a time for a free 15-minute consultation to determine if I am a good therapeutic fit for you. We will use this time to discuss goals for counseling and answer any questions you may have about how I work.

If you determine that I am not quite what you are looking for to meet your needs I am happy to make referrals to you to explore. Your phenomenal health and wellbeing is my priority.

How long is a session? How often do I attend?

Your first session also referred to as an intake is 60-minutes long. All sessions afterward are 50-minutes long. I suggest weekly sessions, being open and honest and completing any homework before each session.

Do you take insurance?

Phenomenal U, PLLC accepts BCBS of Texas, Cigna and Aetna.

We’re diligently working to get credentialed with United Healthcare.

What types of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, Zelle and Cash App.

With what age range do you work?

12 and up.

How are you different from other therapist?

Great question! I like to think of myself as the therapist who brings a splash of humor to every session. While other therapists might stick strictly to the textbook, I incorporate a mix of empathy, real talk and a bit of laughter therapy. Who says therapy can’t be both healing and fun?

Does anyone cry in front of you?

Yes, it happens all the time. I am honored because this means that you feel safe with me as your therapist.

Do I have to tell you everything?

My question is why wouldn’t you? You have reserved this time each week to become the most phenomenal version of yourself.

I tried therapy before and it didn’t seem to work. What will be different if I try again?

You are different this time. You are not the same person you were the last time you participated in therapy.

Each counselor has a different style and maybe that style did not fit you at the time. You were also probably in a different place in your life.

Regardless of the reason, the free consultation is a good way to determine if we can work together to meet your goals in advance.

How do I get my free consultation?
